Hear What
What major would be best for me?

Hello everyone, I am a student in high school and I will be there next year College. I am from what would best fit me great uncertainty. Since I do not know fully about everyone, I thought I could get some help here on which would rather for me. I'm going to college for at least 4 years, possibly 6th What I want more than anything is a task that the payment on 100k a year in Manhattan, where I work in an office building setting wear a suit every day. My main interests are computers and business. I find myself to be very good and quick with numbers, but if it to really intense math and science, I'm not so good. I have recently been on my ability to communicate and plan to improve them through the school. Two Majors I have in the financial and computer science. Like I said, I do not know anything about either so I would like to hear what you think would be the best for me.

I would suggest a business major, but when the College Board's website there are a ton of information about majors and colleges, they go to offer.

What Do They Hear?

Hear It Is

Hear It Is

$10.38

Hearing Hear It Is years later, after all the band had done up to the new century, makes for an almost surreal experience. No swirling orchestral parts, no Beach Boys-on-Mars homages, even Wayne Coyne’s immediately recognizable cracked fracture of a voice isn’t present. Instead, it’s raunchy bar-band-gone-insane fun or calmer but not too wracked ruminations from Coyne, with music to match. It isn’t as completely discontinuous as might be thought, though — Coyne’s vision was already distinctly gone, in ways that most bands would kill for. The gentle acoustic strumming that starts the album on “With You” or the steady pace and mournful singing on “Godzilla Flick” shows that subtlety was as much a part of the game as stomping, fried electric guitar insanity. Throughout Hear It Is, there’s a gleeful “try what works” approach that would only become stronger later — the band may have been punk-inspired and birthed, but Coyne and company drew on everything from country & western to classic rock crunch and more; there are even some clear early goth rock touches. If anybody was kin at the time, it would be the Meat Puppets, with perhaps a little less interest in high lonesome sounds. Texas psych types like the 13th Floor Elevators and the Red Krayola were clear forebears — one can easily imagine Roky Erickson coming up with shaggy dog stories and music for the likes of “Trains, Brains and Rain.” The group’s own uniqueness comes through, though. Consider the blunt imagery of “Jesus Shootin’ Heroin” or the clearly humorous yells and climax of “Charlie Manson Blues” as two examples of many. Initial CD versions of the album included the self-titled EP, while later pressings only added an enthusiastic fuzz-take of Eddie Cochran-via-Blue Cheer’s “Summertime Blues.” ~ Ned Raggett, Rovi Performers: Michael Ivins – Vocals, Bass; Richard English – Drums, Vocals; Wayne Coyne – Vocals, Guitar

H.E.A.R. This

H.E.A.R. This

$7.98

This compilation, benefiting San Francisco’s “Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers,” is an odd mix of a few very old and a lot of very new punk/indie bands, mostly from the Bay Area. Of the recent stuff, a lot of it is too by-the-book, too dull en masse (if spirited). The best of the lot is the melody-moving McRackins, the pesky power of Piss Ant, the garage dirt of the Dimwits, the shimmering politeness of Japan’s Shonen Knife, and the scatterbrain rush of Scared of Chaka. What’s better is the half-dozen archetypal groups that wipe the floor with the remainder of their progeny here — especially the Avengers, whose vicious 1977 ripper “Teenage Rebel” (from 1999′s live retro Died for Your Sins) reminds they’ve never been equaled on this continent, outside of the early work by the Weirdos, D.O.A., and Bad Brains. But H.E.A.R. This deserves praise for its fascination with unfairly forgotten, fantastic old farts. It’s great to re-encounter S.F.-by-way-of-Seattle’s the Lewd, one of the funniest, cleverest, and overlooked groups of the time. “Climate of Fear,” from 1981′s hilarious, insightful American Wino, is all the proof needed. (Investigate “Mobile Home” and “I’m Not Pretty,” too.) Likewise, the tough sounds of the Nyna Crawford-led Vktms is a blast from an exciting past; the Contractions recall a faster Blondie, and stalwart old friends Toxic Reasons bring back the scene’s last great gasp circa 1985. Only historic ’77 scene pioneer Mary Monday seems dated, thanks to screeching, tuneless vocals like a drunken Courtney Love. One hopes this CD sends folks hunting for these under-celebrated greats, and their equally fine S.F. peers Crime, Negative Trend, Nuns, Mutants, Flipper, Dead Kennedys, and Offs. And may it help raise awareness for music-related hearing-damage issues, too. ~ Jack Rabid, Rovi

Hear and Now

Hear and Now

$19.95

Hear and Now is a deeply personal memoir by Emmy® Award-winning filmmaker Irene Taylor Brodsky about her deaf parents’ decision to undergo risky cochlear implant surgery – the only one of its kind that can restore a sense. At 65, Sally and Paul Taylor decided they wanted to hear their first symphonies, their children’s voices, and talk on the phone. This fascinating, 85-minute documentary follows the couple’s complex, moving journey from the silent world they knew to a new – and often profoundly challenging – world of sound. Interweaving home video footage with behind-the-scenes moments of the Taylors before and after their operations, on doctor’s visits, and in their daily lives, the film is a touching and highly emotional exploration of the psychological dimensions of adapting to a restored sense of hearing. Having been hearing impaired their entire lives, the Taylors must learn to recognize what they are hearing and, in the process, discover just how subjective the sense of sound can be.

What Men Say, What Women Hear

What Men Say, What Women Hear

$4.99

We know that men are from Mars and women are from Venus, but what we still need to know is how to find a common dialect and a way of translating what we mean when we communicate with each other. “What Men Say” is an indispensable guide for the modern woman who, although she can run countries, fly to the moon and power walk in stilettos still struggles to understand what a man actually means when he says she ‘has curves’. Here, for the first time, top TV psychologist Dr Linda Papadopoulos (“Big Brother”, “This Morning”, “Newsround”) helps us to unlock the key to better communication within our relationships. She takes the lifespan of relationships and, by utilising the principles of the revolutionary Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; she shows the communication pitfalls and how to avoid them. From the first date disasters through to meeting the parents and popping the Big Question, this book will be the first to address communication problems, teaching the reader ways of identifying them, and showing them that talking in a language we all understand is simply a matter of becoming more aware of our own thought processes and perceptions, and learning how to analyse them.

Look Hear?

Look Hear?

$40.79

With 10cc’s last album, Bloody Tourists, having spun off the monster hit “Dreadlock Holiday,” it would be a very brave person indeed who could argue that the most consistently inventive band of the previous eight years had finally run out of steam. But there were clues; no follow-up hits on the last album, a certain lack of pizzazz on their most recent tours, and an incapacitating car accident that kept Eric Stewart immobile for almost nine months. Put all that together and, when Look Hear? did finally materialize, the surprise might have been that it was as good as it was. Which, to be honest, wasn’t much. It was old news now that the departures of Godley and Creme had robbed the band of the left-field experimentation that made the earlier records such classics; this was the surviving duo’s third album since then. But the enthusiasm, too, had gone. Songs on Look Hear? either struggled half-heartedly to amuse (the disco semi-parody “One Two Five,” the odd “I Hate to Eat Alone”), or else they didn’t do much of anything, beyond nailing a pleasant melody to some gentle words dripped slowly onto the rug. You listened and half of it went in one ear and out the other, and that is still the problem today. It’s “OK.” It’s “not bad.” It’s “a bit bland.” It’s “ho hum.” Two bonus tracks on the 7-Ts reissue include the single edit of “One Two Five” and its B-side, “Only Child.” Neither adds nor subtracts anything from the main attraction, apart from further beautifying what is, surprisingly, the album’s first domestic CD release. ~ Dave Thompson, Rovi Performers: Duncan Mackay – Bells, Clavinet, Synthesizer, Piano, Organ; Eric Stewart – Maracas, Vocals (Background), Slide Guitar, Percussion, Keyboards, Piano (Electric), Vocals, Guitar (Electric), Guitar; Graham Gouldman – Conga, Vocals (Background), Guitar (Acoustic), Bass, Guitar (Electric), Vocals, Guitar; Paul Burgess – Tympani [Timpani], Marimba, Drums, Percussion; Rick Fenn – Vocals, Guitar; Rick McCollum – Vocals (Background), Guitar, Guitar (Acoustic), Guitar (Electric); Stuart Tosh – Tympani [Timpani], Vocals (Background), Percussion, Vocals, Drums

What is it that men really want to hear? Do men want to hear that same things that women do? How can you tell what men want to hear?

Men are just like women in many regards and they want to hear many of the same things. When you know what to say to a man, you can take your relationship to a whole new level. If you still have some questions about what men want to hear, the keep reading to see the tips below.

I Understand

This is one statement that men want to hear, but not when it is laced with sarcasm. When things go wrong, and they will from time to time, guys want a girl who will stand up and handle the problem like a grownup rather than stomp their feet and pout. By saying that you understand that his plane is delayed or he can’t make the dinner with your parents, you are really telling him that you trust him and that you love him. In return, he will love the approach that you take to the issue at hand.

That was Amazing

While a great statement to use in the bedroom, it can also be used in other places. Of course, in the bedroom, you will want to tell him that he blew your mind. Just be careful to not overuse the phrase, but he will feel very macho if you tell him that he was amazing. In addition, you can use the same phrase when he makes you dinner or gives you a great back rub.

That was so Clever

Guys love it when you notice that they also have the ability to use their brains. Did he come up with a creative way of fixing a leaky toilet or did he make you something by hand? Whatever he has done for you around the house, he would love to know that he did a great job and that you appreciate the love and work that he put into the task for you. Saying this will give him an ego boost that most guys need every now and then.

You are so Sexy

While this might be something that he will say to you, you need to return the favor sometimes. We all need to know that our partners are still into us physically whether we have been together for a few days or a few years. One reason that partners cheat is that they don’t feel as though they are loved or appreciated anymore. You can keep this from happening by telling your man how sexy he is.

What Should I do About….

You man will feel loved and appreciated if you stop and ask him for advice. He wants to be there for you and the best way to make this happen is by asking his opinion when you have a problem which you need help in solving. He needs to know that you trust him and the advice that he is going to give. You don’t always have to use it, but he will feel respected just because you asked.
